About Me

This is my thirteenth year as a teacher. My teaching career began in a fly-in community in Wollaston Lake SK, then moved on to Edson. I also taught in Red Deer for two years before returning to Edson and Vanier Community Catholic School. Although my university training focused on junior high and high school, I now teach grade 6 and Music for grades 1 to 4. Each year I enjoy getting to know the students in my grade 6 homeroom class. I am always amazed at the changes they go through in the 10 short months we spend together. As a Music teacher, coordinating the Christmas Concert is one of my biggest responsibilities. I also work with wonderful students in Vocal Choir and Hand Bell Choirs throughout the year, helping them prepare for various performances at school and in the community. I grew up in the Catholic Church and attended Catholic schools from Kindergarten to grade 9. I now appreciate teaching in a Catholic School. My personal interests are reading, writing, playing music, painting, and travelling. In the summer of 2009, I travelled to Nigeria on an Exposure Tour with Development and Peace. It was inspiring to see, first hand, the amazing projects that D & P supports in this developing country. I am also a lifelong learner, regularly taking part in workshops, conferences, and courses that either relate to my spiritual growth, personal interests, or teaching assignment. Robyne Wilock
